Received June 27, 10.45 a.m. MELBOURNE, June 27. Violent storms, with high gales, rain and hail, occurred in Gippsland over the week-end. There were many landslides in the hills and trees were blown down. One road was blocked in eleven places with a mile of iron telephone standards struck by lightning and bent like the letter S. At Leonstlia heavy, continuous rains caused the creeks and rivers to overflow their banks. Many miles of flats are submerged. The flo.ods are the highest since 1902. All shipping is delayed. Two colliers from Sydney were forced to seek shelter.
