SKATE HOCKEY.

FRIENDLY GAME DRAWN. On Saturday night a friendly skate hockey game was played between the Old Boys and United teams on the De Luxe Rink when each club scored two goals. . Martin saved in goal twice for Old Boys at the outset and set Gibson on the aggressive. The movement, however, was checked .and O’Leary, for United, broke away in a solo run which ended in the ball going into the net. Steere sent Lewis away on a counterattack and Craihead received to pass in time to even up the tally. Oliver was outstanding for his side and was hard at it all the time. Despite these attempts, it was Lewis who next met with success and increased the total. Half-time was called without any further alteration. Cutler then scored for his team—United—2.—2. This proved the final rally and the game ended in a draw. Lewis and Gibson were most prominent for Old Boys and O’Leary and Oliver for United. Messrs A. E. Blackbourn and R. L. C. Aitchison were the referees.
