BANK OFFICERS’ GUILD.

ANNUAL CONFERENCE. WELLINGTON, June 24. Twenty delegates from various parts of the Dominion attended the thirteenth annnal conference of the New Zealand Bank Officers’ Guild, which concluded in Wellington yesterday. The annual report presented to meeting showed a membership of 2787, representing approximately 83 per cent, of the staffs of the banks. The report referred to the many activities of tho guild, including investment and beneficent societies, educational work, tho benevolent fund, and also the group insurance scheme which was said to have grown phenomenally. The premium income already amounted to about £10,400 per annum and the value of the life policies in the scheme exceeded £376,000. The accumulated funds of the guild stood at £2888.. The conference devoted its attention to matters concerning tho guild’s membership, and it was decided, in view of the strong financial position, and in the interests of members, that the rates of subscription should be reduced. Gratification was expressed at the prominenco achieved in the field of eport by Messrs F. D. Kilby, E. R. G. Steere and G. A. 11. Bullock-Douglas, of the touring All Blacks’ team. Mr J. p. Hornabrook, of the Kirk-Windeyer golf team, and Mr S. W. Cox, a New Zoaland rowing representative at the Olympic Games. The following officers were elected: President, -Mr R. A. Dixon; vice-presi-dents, Messrs B. C. Carpenter, Auckland, P. C. Rose, Wellington, J. J. Howie, Christchurch, and It. W. Sadd, Dunedin; executive committee, Messrs H. J. Edwards, A. R. Frethey, V. C. B. Edwards, A. J. Kircher, 0. J. Du Flou, K. T. Thompson, G. F. Loney, E. Cl. Little and J. Stenhouse; lion, auditor, Mr S. T. A. Scott.
