FIRE AT OROUA DOWNS.

CAR AND CARAGE DESTROYED. (From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, May 19. Firo completely destroyed a ear and a garage belonging to Mr D. C. Cowdray, of Oroua Downs, at 5 o’clock on Tuosday evening. Tho cause of the outbreak is not known, but Mr Cowdray was out in his car during the afternoon, returning it to tho garage about 4.30 p.m., when ho sot out for the back of his farm to get the oowe. It was while he was so engaged that ho noticed smoko issuing from tho car shed. He hurried back, but by tho time he reached tho building it was a mass of flames and it was impossible to do anything to save tho car. Fortunately, tho outbuildings were well away from tho dwelling. Tho car and tho shed are covered by insurance, but tho amounts aro not known.
