THE WEATHER

GENERAL FORECAST. A wave of relatively low pressure has been crossing the Dominion, but an anti-cyclone still extends from eastern Australia to New Zealand. Southerly winds; freslr to strong in the far north and south; elsewhere light hut freshening somewhat. Seas rather rough north of East Cape and in Foveaux Strait; elsewhere moderate in New Zealand waters. Moderate to fresh southerly winds in Vie eastern Tasman Sea, and moderate seas. Weather fair to fine in most districts, but some showers likely in the far north and south, and also on parts of the East Coast of the South Island. Temperatures cool with many night frosts. MANAWATU RIVER GAUGE. Noon. —3ft 3ins.
