FRENCH LINER ABANDONED ABLAZE.—The 16,990-ton Georges Philippar, the latest Mcssageries Maritimes liner, on which fire broke out in the Gulf of Aden, when bound from China to Marseilles. The vessel was abandoned and the fate of some of the passengers and crew is still uncertain, one message stating that 120 are not accounted for.
