ECONOMIC CONFERENCE.

PRELIAIINARY AVORK. Received April 22, 8.5 a.m. OTTAWA, April 20. Preliminary work for the Imperial Economic Conference is being pushed forward. Committees, sub-committees, and inter-departmental organisations of the Government are hard at work gathering essential information. Parliament will probably have a discussion on the conference soon, when a vote of 250,000 dollars to defray the expenses of tho Empire gathering comes before the House of Commons. The Prime Minister, Air R. B. Bennett, is prepared to set aside a day for members to give their views upon the conference.
