MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, April 20. Arnold Aloysius Haggitt, aged 35, and Ernest William \v alter Haggitt, aged 37, were charged with interfering with the working of the telephone systems. The former was also charged with the theft of goods, also six bicycles. Accused was caught redhanded interfering with a telephone box. When arrested ho had 62 pennies in his possession. The police stated that since February, 40 telephone boxes had been broken open at night. The Magistrate sentenced Arnold Haggitt to twelve months in gaol on the first charge, and six months for theft, the sentences to be cumulative. The other accused was remanded for the Probation Officer’s report.
