AT THE REGENT. / "STRANGERS MAY KISS.” A modern young woman who embarks upon a globe-trotting honeymoon is Nonna Shearer’s glamorous heroine in “Strangers May Kiss,” which will bo screened to-night at tho Regent Theatre. Filmed from the Ursula Parrott novel, the picture paints a sweeping and racy canvas of the turbulent emotions experienced by this gorgeous star. Never beforo lias Bliss Shearer appeared to better advantage, and her characterisation of tho heroine easily ranks with her work in “The Divorcee,” also written by Miss Parrott. In this new Motro-Goldwyn-Mayer picture brittle and pointed dialogue plays a paramout part, although tho action is swift and dramatic. It never becomes stilted, as is so often tlie ease in a talking picture based upon sparkling dialoguo. The scones aro lavishly presented under the masterly direction of George Fitzmaurico. r Robert Biontgomery is again co-starred with Norma Shearer, and offers a priceless performance, 'reminiscent of his role in “Tho Divorcee,” but considerably laden with dramatic and sympathetic appeal. Noil Hamilton, as the man with whom Lisbeth elopes in so unconventional a manner, is fittingly romant*e. In tho supporting cast are such sterling . players as Blarjorio Rambcau, Ircno Rich, Hale Hamilton, Jed Prouty, Conchita Blontcncgro, Albert Conti, Henry Armetta and Georgo Davis. The picture abounds with what are known as production values. The settings and costumes aro beautiful to the eye, .and tho pictorial effects are striking. “Strangers Blay Kiss” is supported by “Beau Hunks,” a Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy comedy considered by all to bo the greatest comedy on the screen to-day, and which should not bo missed by patrons who enjoy a good laugh, and then moro laughs. KOSY THEATRE. “RECKLESS LIVING.” “Reckless Living,“ Universal’s race-track film of gamblers, featuring Ricardo Cortez, Blae Clarke and Norman Foster, is the attraction announced by the Kosy Theatre for presentation to-night. There are exciting police raids, thrills and comedy.
