GENERAL FORECAST. An extensive depression is advancing toward the Dominion. Conditions are also very disturbed over Australia. Winds moderate northerly, squally at times. Seas rather rougn about Cook and Foveaux Straits; elsewhere moderate in New Zealand waters. Moderate to strong northerly winds in the eastern Tasman Sea, and rather rough seas. Weather mild, dull and unsettled with almost general rain. DISTRICT REPORT. DULL CONDITIONS. The Government meteorologist wired to-day: The indications are for northerly winds* moderate to strong. Expect dull weather, with much mist and fog in parts; also rain. The barometer is unsteady. MANAWATU RIVER GAUGE. Noon. —3ft 9ins.
