THE WEATHER
GENERAL FORECAST. New Zealand is once again covered by a fairly intense anti-cyclone, blit pressure is relatively low to the north and west of the North Island. Moderate to strong southerly to southeasterly winds. Seas rather rough north of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura; elsewhere moderate in New Zealand waters. Moderato to fresh south-east to north-east winds in the eastern Tasman Sea, and moderate seas. Weather changeable, with further rain at places about and north of Cook Strait; mainly fine in the South Island. Cool temperatures with inland frosts in the south. DISTRICT REPORT. COOL AND CHANGEABLE. The Government meteorologist wired to-day: The indications are for southeasterly winds, moderate to strong. The weather will probably prove cool and changeable. Tho barometer has a falling tendency. MANAWATU RIVER GAUGE. Noon.—2ft. 3ins.
