BADMINTON CLUB.

On Monday evening tho Palmerston North Badminton Club commenced its playing season. Notwithstanding the inclemency of the weather, members, and others interested in the game, attended in good numbers' and an excellent night’s play was had. Even though there has been no play since last September the standard of play was fairly high and augurs well for the coming season. Several new members who were playing the game for the first time soon mastered the elementary points of the game and there is little doubt that in a very short while the local club will rank amongst the strongest clubs in New Zealand. The ladies of tho club provided a dainty supper, which was served to the players at a suitable juncture.
