RENEWED CONEIDENCE

BRITAIN PAYS HER WAY. BALANCING THE BUDGET. DECREASE IN UNEMPLOYMENT. (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph.—Copyright.) (British Official Wireless.) Received Marfch 22, 11.0 a.m. RUGBY, March 21. During the course of a speech he delivered, the Minister of Labour, Sir Henry Betterton, said that the cause of renewed confidence now generally felt throughout Britain wa3 the prospect of a balanced Budget. Britain was almost alone among the nations in a position, though at a great sacrifice, to pay her way. Sir Henry believed that when orderly progress once again took the place of economic chaos the nation might find itself in the position of being among the first to take advantage of the general world recovery. The'employment figures also justified feelings of restrained optimism.
