HOSPITAL BOARD
IMONTHLY MEETING HELD. The monthly meeting of the Palmerston North Hospital Board was held yesterday afternoon, Mr J. K. Hornblow presiding. Others present were Mrs L. A. Abraham, Messrs J. A. Nash, M.P., McElroy, Collis, Boyce, Moody, McLean, Mansford, Aitchison, Howell, Catley, Smith and Monk. The medical superintendent (Dr F. Ward) reported that there were 171 patients in the Hospital at the end of February, and the average number of occupied beds was 166. No cases of infectious disease had been admitted. There had been 22 admissions to the
maternity homo and 48 attendances at the ante-natal clinic. The acting matron (Miss Gedney) reported that the following donations had been received: Books, Mrs Hopwood ; magazines, Mrs Carter and Miss Wilson.
The Palmerston North District Nursing Guild reported that during February the nurse had paid 60 visits to 25 patients. The reports were adopted. The board received a request for the use of a room at the Otaki Hospital for the purpose of a school dental clinic.—The matter was referred to the Otaki Hospital committee.
