A. AND P. SHOWS.

Since its formation in December last the Citizens’ Show Committee has exhibited considerable enthusiasm for the purpose that brought its members together—to stimulate interest in the Manawatu Shows and to make them more attractive to the townspeople. The conference which took place this week between members of the A. and P. Association and the Committee showed that considerable progress has been made, and a worthy spirit of co-operation exists with the officials of the Association. This is to the advantage of both interests, for a more prosperous show reacts to the benefit of the business people .in the larger number of exhibitors and visitors who are attracted to Palmerston North twice a year. In the course of the discussion valuable suggestions from the viewpoint of those not immediately concerned with the administration of the Association were made by the Committee, and were welcomed by the Show officials. These are an earnest of the keen desire of townspeople to improve the annual exhibitions and should receive full consideration. Throughout, there has been a spirit of constructive criticism, and where members of the Citizens’ Committee feel improvements can be effected they have examined the matter and given their advice accordingly. By functioning in this way the Committee should render . esteemed service to the Association.
