FOXTON
(From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, March 9. Mr and Mrs J. K. Homblow, accompanled by their daughter, Miss K. Hornblow, left for Wellington yesterday. On Saturday’ the annual triangular sports contest for the Thompson shield was held at Marlon, when representative teams were present from Levin, Foxton and Marton District High Schools. Som* very line performances were witnessed and tin, programme was keenly contested. Marton secured the coveted trophy for the first time from Levin, the final points being' aa follow: —Tennis: Marton 5, Levin 94, I Foxton 94; swimming, Marton 7. Levin 11, | Foxton 6; athletics, Marton 144, Levin 4A, 1 Foxton 5: totals, Marton 264, Levin 25, Foxton 204. I Miss Hughes was successful in gaining | tile following prizes in the dahlia section at the Levin Horticultural Show on Tuesday :—Cactus, 3 varieties. 1; 1 bloom, 1 and h.c.; paeonv, 1 bioom, 2: decorative, 6 varieties, 1; 3 varieties, 1; 1 bloom, 1; pom-poms, 1; and champion bloom.
