TOKOMARU.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) TOKOMARU, Feb. 23. Mr J. Anderson of Takapau, ha* been the guest of Mr E. Stoke*. Miss M. Gil* mour is visiting friends and relations in Taranaki. Mr J. Young is in the South Island. Mrs Gibbs and family are the guests of Mr and Mrs W. Parr. Mr J. Ella left during tho week for the South Island. Mrs Morgan and Miss E. Campbell, of Palmerston North, have been'tho guests of Mrs Thornton.
On Saturday the local school held their annual picnic in Mr E. Wilton’s paddock by the.river, and this being a popular, function it was very well attended. The capable Sehool . Committee had all arrangements well in hand, thus assisting to make tho day a great success for boffi children and adults. Plentiful' supplies of fruit, lollies, and ices were dispensed during the day. Games and sports wore the chief items of amusement.
