REICHSTAG DEBATE. PANDEMONIUM REIGNS. (Times Cables.) Received February 25, 8.5 a.m. LONDON, Feb. 24. The Berlin correspondent of thp Times states that Herr Goebelsi at the opening of the Reichstag debate on the date of the elections, said that the nation had elected President Hindenburg because he wished to serve the cause of Nationalism. He had done the opposite and had gone with the Middle Left. He had earned the praise of the gutter Press and the deserters from his party. Socialists shouted: We who have fought and bled will not stand such insults 1” . * Pandemonium reigned and a fight threatened. ■ The debate was suspended and Herr Goebels was excluded from the Chamber for the remainder of the day.
Herr Goebels is one of the leaders of the Nazi movement.
