DISTRICT AUTHORITIES. PERSONNEL ANNOUNCED. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Feb. 24. The appointment of nine of the ten District Licensing Authorities set up under the Transport Licensing Act last session, was announced by the Minister of Transport, Rt. Hon. J. U. Coates, to-night. “I think,” said Mr Coates, that the Government hns been exceedingly fortunate in securing the services or gentlemen with such wide public experience and ability to administer the transport problems of each district, and I feel sure aiey will succeed ;n laying the foundation of reforms in 00-oidinating our various transport facilities.” . -„ _. Mr S. Jickell, of Palmerston North, is one of the best-known civil engineers in New Zealand. Prior to entering into private practice in Palmerston North he was chief engineer to the Borough Council for a number of years.
