/j. TERRACE END SCHOOL. Postponed from yesterday because of the heavy rain/ the annual'swimming sports of the Terrace, End School were held in the school baths this afternoon. The weather was again unfavourable, but the staff were determined that the events be decided because of the difficulty in selecting another date. The arrangements were in the hands of the staff, and left nothing to be desired, the races being decided in rapid succession. As usual, the meeting attracted a large number of parents and friends of the children. The results up to the time of going to press were as follow: Senior boys' championship, 100 yards.— Baigent 1, Gilchrist 2, Carter 3; time, lmin. 21scc., a record, by 10 seconds. Juniors boys’ championship, 75 yards: Wilson 1, Dahl 2, Rowlands 3; time, lmin. 9 4-ssec. Senior girls’ ohampionship, 75 yards: D. Joffrie 1; time, lmin. 23seo; the only competitor to finish. Junior girls’ championship 75 yards: J. Baigent 1, J. Smith 2; timo, lmin.-19 4-ssec. Bebinncrs’ raco, boys, one width: Kerr 1, McConnon and.Bett equal 2; Highstcd 3; time, 13sec.
