RESULTS AT WELLINGTON. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Feb. 23. The Band Contest was continued today, results being as follow:' Euphonium solo (own selection). —O. Williams (Wanganui Garrison), “Jenny Jones,” 97 points, 1; J. McClintock (Woolston), “Jenny Jones,” 91 points, 2; T. H. Hughes (Nelson Garrison), “Good-bye, Sweetheart,” 90 points, 3. E fiat soprano cornet (own selection). —E. Webb* (Queen Alexandra’s Own), “Silver Threads Among the Gold,” 88 points, 1; J. King (Wellington Municipal), “Silver Threads,” 86 points. 2. Fiugel horn solo (own selection). —E. Ormrod (Port Nicholson Silver), “Pilgrim of Love,” 86 points, 1; R. G. Ward (Royal Naval Volunteers), “Serenade,” 85 points, 2: AV. Hambly (Port Nicholson Silver), “AViederkehr,” 84 points, J. Lord Bledisloe was among the large audience at the Town Hall this evening to hear the Jy grade bands in the first

The aggregate points will be announced after the bands have played the second test piece to-morrow evening. “The playing of the bands has been very good,” said the judge. Mr J. JKelly, in announcing the placings. I have not come here to flatter, butito help. Sometimes to-night I felt that I could not have helped, as the playing has been very fine.”
