OPIUM DEN RAIDED.

Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Feb. 24. Detectives raided- an opium den 'in Grey’s Avenue last night and'arrested four men and seized a considerable quantity of opium, which was hidden in! the ceiling. Ah Chan, aged 38, a laundryman, described as a hopeless addict, was to-day fined £l5O for being the occupier of the premises to which the police gained entry. Three other Chinese were fined £l2 10s for being on, the premises. The hauL of opium Wa's the largest made by the police for several years.
