BAND RECITAL.
Under the conductorship of Mr C. Rike the Palmerston North Garrison Band presented a programme of unusual interest in tho Square rotundalast evening. There was a good attendance of the public who heard the following numbers: —March, 8.8. and C.F.” (J. Ord. Hume), this march being the test for A grade bands at the Wellington contest last Saturday: hymn, “Fierce Raged the Tempest (Dykes); ' “You Will Remember Vienna” from the operetta, “Viennese Nights” (Sigmund Romberg); contest selection, “Carmen” (Georges Bizet); trombone solo, “The Joywheel (E. Sutton) by special request (solmst Bandsman W. . O’Hara); overture, “Pique Dame” (Suppe) by speeiaL.request; fox trot, “Good heart”; selection, “Stradella (Flutow); march, “Slaidburn , (Rimmer); “God Save the King.’fV
