FREIGHTER ON ROCKS.
CARGO OF MERCHANDISE. Received February 23, 8.30 a.m. SYDNEY,. Feb. 23. The inter-State freighter Northern Firth is still fast on the rocks at Brush Island, near Jervois Bay. The holds are filled with water. , The underwriters will decide te-day whether an attempt will be made to salvage the cargo of 1800 tons of merchandise. JAPANESE SHIP REFLOATED., WHEAT DUMPED OVERBOARD. Received February 23. 11.0 a.m. PERTH. Feb. 23. The freighter Hayo Maru was refloated, and 'proceeded to Banbury under her own steam. A thousand pounds’ worth of wheat was dumped overboard before the vessel floated.
