LINTON.
(From Our Own-Correspondent.) LINTON, Feb. .21. The monthly meeting of the Linton branch of the Farmers’ Union was held on Wednesday last, Mr Greer presiding over an attendance of 25 members. It was decided' to hold the annual meeting and election of officers next month. A good attendance was promised for the field day at Massey College next Wednesday. At the conclusion of the meeting Mr Bruce Levy, of tho Agricultural Department, gavo an interesting address on grasses, dealing principally with clovors, true perennial ryegrass etc. This was illustrated with lantern slides and was much appreciated by m The 6 Tcnnis Club held a dance on Friday evening in tho Linton Hall. The musio was 3d by Mr R. Brill, Aokautere, and Mr J. Collis. The duties of M.C. were performed bv Mr 0. Batchelar. The friends of Mr. S. Ballinger regret to hear that he is in hospital, as the result of an accident, and hope that he will mako a satisfactory reoovery. Mr Ballinger fell from a stack on Saturday and roceived nainful injuries to his ribs and chest. Misses Adams have left on a holiday visit to Tauranga and Rotorua. Mr A. Akers has left for the north on a deep-sea fishing expedition Miss E. Currin is visiting Hawke s Bay. Mr Rex Beckett has returned to Wellington.
