PAHIATUA.
PAHIATUA, Feb. 22. Miss K. Barnes, of Konini, is visiting her mother, Mrs J. C. Barnes, at Rongomoi. Miss E. Ward, of “Oete.” has returned home after spending a holiday with friends in Hawera. Miss Cornforth left to-day to spend a short holiday with friends in Wellington. Mrs McGavin, of Wellington, and her eon, Mr McGavin, spent the week-end as the guests of Mrs W. D. Taylor, “Mironui,” Mangatainoka. Mrs I. Mac Gibbon, of Pahiatua, has left to spend several weeks’ holiday »with relatives in Christchurch. Mr S. Bolton, “Oete,” is a visitor to Wellington. Mr A. D. Eglinton, of Ngaturi, has returned from a visit to Wellington. Mr Henry Ahrens, of Pahiatua, has left for Nelson to compete in dirt track sports there. Mr W. Mitchell, of Wellington, and formerly of Ngaturi, was a visitor to Pahiatua last week.
The heavy rain of the past few days has made a wonderful difference to the pastures round Pahiatua. The brown tint is rapidly disappearing and in its stead is a luscious green to stimulate production and gladden the heart of every farmer.
