TWO BREACHES ALLEGED. Margaret Ada McGuire appeared before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court to-day charged with two breaches of the Bankruptcy Act. It was alleged that, having been adjudged bankrupt on. January 30, 1931, she did obtain credit to the amount of £lB3 12s lOd between August 20 and October 13, 1931, from D.. Levin and Coy., Wellington, and credit to the amount of £9O 9s 3d from the Priscilla Lingerie Coy.., Wellington, between August 21 and October 18, 1931, without disolosing that she was an undischarged bankrupt. The Crown Solicitor (Mr Cooke) stated that defendant had been in business as a confectioner in Palmerston North and had gone bankrupt. Her liabilities to unsecured creditors had totalled £666, but some had not proved; her assets had . realised £2O. The secured ’ creditors had taken everything and there had been no surplus. Afterwards she had none to .Wellington and obtained credit from the two firms without disclosing that she was an undischarged bankrupt. They were now in a very unfortunate position. Tho Deputy-Offi-cial Assignee lrad learned she had the goods in her possession nnd seized them to bo realised on behalf of the first creditors.
