MAY VISIT AUSTRALIA.

FILM STAR AND WELL-KNOWN WRITER. NEW YORK, Feb. 17. There is possibility that Mr Douglas Fairbanks, the motion picture actor, and Mr Peter B. Kyne, the well-known author, may in the near future visit Australia. . . •.The Australian Travel Association representative in San Francisco states that Mr Fairbanks, who sailed in the Makura to-day for Tahiti, from which he will proceed in a yacht to make a travelogue of the South Seas, Fiji and New Guinea, , told him that if time permitted he would include Australia. He must return to Los Angeles in time for the Olympic Games. Mr Kyne, who has been asked to join the so-called Young America group, which is scheduled to leave by the Monterey on March 6, has received a cablegram from Mr J. A. Lyons, Prime Minister of Australia, urging him to come. The writer stated that he would go if •he possibly could, and upon his return do his bit to give that interesting country the sort of forceful, kindly publicity it so eminently merited. Mr Kyne expressed doubt as to his ability to leave by March 6, but added that he would “move heaven and earth to get there in time for the Melbourne Cup.”
