OPINION OF EXPORT BOARDS. • P° r Press Association. ' WELLINGTON, Feb. 18. lhe Meat, Dairy and Fruit Export Boards met on Thursday to consider the position in connection with the exchange pool, and a report from the exchange committee was received aiwl adopted; Great dissatisfaction was expressed by the, boards that the Government had not taken the necessary steps to cancel the Order-in-Council ana remove the restrictions that had been imposed on exchange. The boards were unanimous in their opinion that the farmers had suffered to a materia! extent by every day’s delay, and that the effect of a further delay would lie that the results of the whole of the production of this season would be sold and realised without the gain to the farmer that was legitimately his. •j v o * evidence collected and laid before the boards it was considered inevitable that the rate of exchange must rise considerably later in th The whole of the people would then have to pay increased prices for fuany lines, without having receive the benefit that would have been obtained by a higher exchange if brought into effect earlier. ■ The farmer wouh thus be sacrificed twice over.
