TOKOMARU.
(From Our Own Correspondent,) TOKOMARU, Feb. 16. Mrs McLean and Mr D. McLean have returned to their homo in Christchurch after being the guests of Mr and Mrs W. Pope. Mrs J. MaoNao and Miss Manures Hewison 'have returned after being the guests of Mr and Mrs F. Hewison, of Takapau. Miss J. Boote has returned home after being the guest of her sister, Mrs S. Jarrett. Miss A. Rowland is at present visiting New Plymouth. Mr R. W. Guy lift for Hastings during tho week. Mrs J. Howitson has returned home after an extended vaoation spent in Nolson. Mrs H. Waghorn and son Douglas are spending a holiday with relations in Christchurch. On Friday night the Tennis Club held a euchre party and dance in aid of tho club funds. There was a very fair attendance. The successful card players . wore: Ladies, Mrs R. Baylia 1, Mrs McLean consolation; men, Mrs R. Atkinson 1, - Mrs Crook consolation. Mrs Baylis donated her prize to tho club. The cake whioh was donated by Mr A. Grady was won, by Mrs 8. Kennard. The musio was supplied by Mr H. Parr and extras by Miss J. Broe. Mr E. B. Stokes carried out the duties of M.C. A pleasant function terminated in the early hours of the morning. On Saturday tho school picnio will bo held in Mr E. Wilton’s paddock by the river. With lino weather this function should prove a succoss.
