Their Excellencies, Lord and Lady Bledisloe, were passengers from tne north to Wellington on the Limite express this morning. Inquiry at the Hospital to-day elicited the information that the condition of Mrs W..H. K. Gilmour who was seriously injured on Saturday night, was unchanged. Mr F. L. Kenrick for many -years manager of the Bank of New , land at Te Aroha, has been promoted to the position of inspector, witn headquarters in Auckland. Mr W. A. Collins, chairman of the Wanganui Education Board, who has been in hospital since before Christmas, has so improved in health that he hopes to be able to return home to-day-Mr E. Barrett, of Miramar, - who was seriously injured in a motor accident on the mam highway near Uhau some time ago, is now reported by tne Hospital authorities to be showing an improvement. His Honour, Sir Justice Ostler, accompanied by his associate, ’ Crossley, will return to Wellington from Palmerston • North to-morrow prior to proceeding to Wanganui where His Honour will preside at. the quarterly, sessions of the Supreme Court. Sir Charles Statliam, Speaker of the House of Representatives in tne last Parliament, arrived in Vellington from the south yesterday. He was returned for Dunedin Central at th last election, and it is expected that he will be re-elected Speaker of tne House next Tuesday. Rev. H. O. T. Hanby, vicar of Belfast and Marshland, has been appointed a member of the Christchurch Cathedral Chapter and an honorary canon of the Cathedral, in place or Rev. W. S. Bean, who resigned at the end of last year. Rev. A. H. Norris, vicar of Cashmere Hills, has also been appointed to the same offices in place of Rev. P. J. Cocks, who recently resigned on leaving for England. Rev. P. Houghton, M.A., vicar cf Brooklyn, Wellington, . has been ottered and has accepted the important living of St.. Mark’s, Remuera, Auckland, in succession to Rev. G. C. Cruickshank, who will be vicar of the Cathedral at Dunedin. Mr Houghton is a graduate of Durham University, England, and holds also the degree of Licentiate of Theology. He was formerly vicar of St. Paul’s, Arrmtage Bridge, in the diocese of Wakefield, Yorkshire, and came to New Zealand about five years ago.
