PIONEER MOTORIST.

DEATH OF SIR ALFRED YARROW. LONDON, Jan. 25. The death is announced of Sir Alfred Yarrow, whoso use of a steam-driven motor-car in 1861 was responsible for the Act ordering mechanical road vehicles to be preceded by a man carrying a red flag.

The late Sir Alfred Yarrow was 90 years of age. His Clyde shipbuilding firm. Yarrow and Co. Ltd., are the builders of the Yarrow boiler, now generally adopted by tho navies of the world.
