STRUGGLE FOR A KNIFE.

Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 4. The story of a struggle for a sheath knife early this morning in a right of way behind the Regent Theatre was told in Court by Constable Wells in describing the arrest of Arthur Bridge CUyns, aged 25, an Indian porter, on a charge of being a rogue and a vagabond in that he -was armed with a knife with a felonious intent. The police alleged that the man had been seen loitering in a suspicious manner and had house-breaking implements in his possession. He had struggled hard in an attempt to resist arrest. Gilbert Summers Towers, aged 28, a club steward, was charged with converting a motor car to his own use. The police alleged that Towers was an accomplice of Cllyn’s and had been seen near tho right of way. I Both cases were adjourned till Decernber 11.
