NEW ZEALAND AND CANADA.

CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 3. To discuss the possibility of a trade treaty with the Canadian Minister of Finance, the New Zealand Minister of Customs and Finance, Hon. W. Downie Stewart, expects to leave New Zealand for Honolulu on December 15.

When he passed through Christchurch to-nigirt Mr Stewart said that he would probably arrive at Honolulu on Christmas Day, and negotiations would be opened at once.
