LONDON FOG.

SHIPPING AT STANDSTILL.

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Nov. 30

A fog which was widespread over London and most of South-eastern England yesterday, persisted to-day, but was less dense except on the Thames Estuary, where shipping was at a standstill.

Railway, timetables ware to ;ome extent disorganised, particularly in Kent, and road traffic was slowed down generally. The fog enveloped the riverside warehouses, and because of the difficulty of inspecting samples the London wool sales were postponed. The city of London was in darkness because of the heavy pall of fog overhead, but the traffic proceeded normally by the light of tire street lamps.
