THE B. AND A. CUP. The winter programme of activities of the Mapawatu Golf Club was brought to finality by the meeting of T. Louisson and K. Glendinning in the play-off for the B. and A. Cup, victory going to the former 2 and i after a dose game. On the outward journey Louisson took the first in 4, Glendinning having got into the rough with his second. The second ana third were halved in fives, but Glendinning squared the match at the fourth. Louisson, however, recovered his lost advantage at the next and added the 6th and 7th in succession in scratch figures. Glendinning reduced his deficit at Monro’s in 3 —4 and, with Eden being halved in par figures, Louisson was 2up at the turn. He added Totaras to make him 3 up. but he hooked his second at Land’s End to lose the hole. Glendinning also took Lagoon Hill in 3—4 and, following upon Ti Ti’s being halved in scratch figures, Glendinning squared the match at the Kraal. However, Louisson again secured the advantage by recording a birdie 4 to 5 at Barraud’s. The Butts was halved in fives and the match terminated at Taipo where Louisson holed his putt for a birdie 3 to 4, making him 2 up with 1 to play.
