BUILDING OF WARSHIPS.
POSTPONEMENT POSSIBLE. The Shipping World says its understands that the Admiralty, under pressure from the Treasury, is reconsidering its draft shipbuilding programme for 1932-33, with view to the postponement of certain work. This would increase unemployment for many firms and unless sufficient orders are soon forthcoming they must close down their works, leaving Britain less capable of producing naval armaments than America, France or Italy.
