ACTIVITIES OF NIGHT PROWLER

About a year ago attention was drawn to a number of offences committed at Paraparaunui by some unknown person and it is learned that property destruction and the killing of animals by an unknown night prowler still continue at intervals in the township. Despite the efforts ot police and residents, a mystery already of several years’ standing remains unsolved. Recently a fowlyard was entered and a number of birds killed. Later a pig was killed within a short distance of several homes-. One morning a dog was found to have been brutally killed. Another night a | haystack was set afire. Not long ago , a glass -house was entered and plants killed with a poisonous spray. A numI her of residents are reported to have j received queer communications and [generally the mystery is such as to give rise to a good deal of uneasiness.
