THE COMMANDMENTS.

(To the Editor.) Sir,—-Just a little space by your kind permission, to reply to the letter of Mr Anderson which appeared in your issue of recent date. I lay no more emphasis, in fact not as much on tlie Ten Commandments or their observance as did our Saviour while He was on tlie earth, and when we study the 'Word of God carefully we find the Ten Commandments the best summary of Christian ethics, the real standard of righteousness, the standard of tho great judgment-, and the reyealer and detector of all sin. All there is of morals is summarily expressed in the law and this is tiie reason for Jesus telling the young man in Matt. 19 if he would enter into life to keep the Commandments, even as Christ kept His Father’s Commandments and abode in the love of God. In the 24th verse of this chapter, there is merely the one stage of Christian growth mentioned, and the last chapter of Revelation brings before us again tlie summary of Christian obedience—keeping the Commandments which will give a right to the tree of life. Rev. 22: 14, l 4 :12. A law does not give life, but the observance of it saves us from death.—l am, etc., C. A. WRIGLEY.
