Mr D. W. Low gave an interesting address at the meeting of the Citizens’ Lunch Club to-day on “Peeps at London,” a report of which will appear to-morrow. A cable message from Ottawa says that the Dominion Bureau of Statistics announces that Canada has a population of 10,353,778 —an increase of 1,565,829 compared with ten years ago. At a special meeting of the management committee of the Manawatu Radio Club last week, it was decided to cable to the gramophone companies in Sydney for permission to use records for broadcasting until December 31. To-day a cable reply was received granting the permission (without prejudice). More than 1650 head of cattle were shipped from Canada to England in one week—a record number for the year.
