CABIN DOOR FOUND.
BELIEVED TO BE KOTITI’S. Per Press Association. AVELLINGTON, Oct. 26. A cabin door believed to have belonged to the Kotiti’s deck house was found floating in the sea about one chain from Kapiti Island on Sunday morning by Messrs E. AA r . Barringer, of Palmerston North, and F. A. Saunders, of Paraparaurnu. The door was brought to AA’ellington this afternoon by its finders and will be taken to the Marine Department to-morrow morning to see * if it can be identified. The door is about five feet in height and two feet in width. It is painted white on one side, with a red square round the lock, and is red, heavily splashed with white paint, on the other side. Both hinges have been torn from the door, which does not appear to have been in the water for many days. The door is, as near as can be judged, the size of those on the Kotiti’s deck house aft.
