YOUTH IN COURT.

(Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Oct. 27. A youth of seventeen who three times has broken into premises and stolen apparatus for his chemical experiments appeared in the Police Court to-day, charged with the theft of glassware, valued at £l2, the property of the Gas Company, whose laboratory lie had entered through a fanlight. It was stated the instruments were recovered intact and no attempt was made to dispose of them. The youth liad a bent for chemistry and apparently was unable to resist tho temptation to steal instruments. He could not afford to buy.

The Magistrate remanded accused, who is named Keith George Brierly, for a report from the Probation Officer. Bail was allowed.
