PALMERSTON NORTH CLUB’S TOURNAMENT. The Palmerston North Lawn Tennis Club’s courts at Linton Street were well patronised yesterday when a Yankee tournament attracted a large number of entries. Play commenced early in the morning and continued until the evening. The A grade was won by. McDonald and Miss Haggitt and the B grade by G. Wilson and Miss B. McDonald (4) after playing off with Hewatson and Miss Fish (12). Details of the gomes are as follow- : —• A grade.—McDonald and Miss Haggitt won 10, lost 0; Coombe and Miss Cummerfield, won 4, lost 4; Robertson and Miss Rutherford, won 4, lost 5, drew 1; Einam and Miss Wapp, won 4, lost 6; Beckett and Miss Cameron. won 5, lost 4, drew 1; Salmon and Miss Wapp, won 4, lost 5, drew 1 ; Campbell and Miss N. Rutherford, won 3, lost 6, drew 1; Scrivener and Miss B. Rodgers, won 2, lost 8; Tetley and Miss V. Christian, won 3, lost 0, drew--1; Gardner and Miss A. Heard, won 7, lost 3.
