ALLEGED MANSLAUGHTER.
SEQUEL TO CARRIER’S DEATH. WELLINGTON, Oct. 2d. On a charge of manslaughter, following the death of Percy AVilliam Childs, carrier, of Wellington, AVilliam Heim Boyce, carpenter, aged 23, came before Mr T. B. McNeil, S.M., m the Police Court and on the application of Sub-Inspector AVard was remanded until November 4. „ , Bovea was arrested on Saturday, after" the police had been making inquiries as to an alleged occurrence near the Royal Tiger Hotel on October 17, when Childs was found unconscious on the pavement and sufforing from head injuries, from which, a few hours afterward he died. Making application for hail yesterday Mr AA r . E. Leicester, who appeared" for accused, said he had not bad an opportunity to go fully into the facts with his client, but he understood that when the caso came on for hearing facts considerably in his client s favour would be adduced, and evidence would bo called on his behalf. Bovce was a young man, married, . and witli ono Magistrate granted bail of £2OO and ono surety of a like amount, it being a condition that accused renort daily to the police.
