CHRISTIAN TEACHINGS.

CONVENTION AT SYDNEY. SYDNEY, Aug. 20. The International Christian Endeavour Convention services were continued to-day. Rev. E. Raward made a plea for church unity rather than a union of churches. He said that different forms of worship were necessary for the fullest expression of religious ideas. Rev. R. Bye, of Tasmania, and Rev. H. Prouse, of Queensland, appealed for loyalty to denominational missions, which were the greatest means of winning the world to Christianity, and he urged the churches to combat the materialism which was rampant throughout the world.

Rev. Lionel Fletcher, of New Zealand, during a lunch-hour talk to businessmen, said that if the world were to be set right they must start by employing the teachings of Christianity. No politician or military man was capable of putting the world right.
