AUSTRALIAN FINANCE.

EFFECT OF CONVERSION SCHEME. LONDON, Aug. 17. . The Daily Telegraph’s financial editor indulges in an expression of satisfaction at the progress of the Australian conversion scheme. He says that Australia’s position has improved enrmously during tho past few months.
