UTUWAI.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) UTUWAI. Aug. 14. Owing to the rough weather the dance held at Utuwai on Wednesday evening last was very poorly attended. However, those present spent an enjoyable time dancing to music supplied by Mr T. Searle (accordion) and Messrs J. and W. Cawood (piano). Supper was dispensed by the ladies and the dance concluded'at midnight. A much looked for improvement in the weather has beon shown during the past two days, there being two heavy frosts followed bv bright sunny days. One or two early lambs have been seen locally, but the season is not expected to begin till next month.
