MUNGANA ACTION.

HEARING ADJOURNED. BRISBANE, Aug. 17. In the Mungana case, Mr A. D. Mc'Gill, in the course of liis final address to the jury on behalf of the Crown, commented on the action of E. G. Theodore, Federal Treasurer, in particular in not entering the witness-box. He said it should be the one desire of a man holding a high position like Mr Theodore to defend his honour against aspersions of frand and corruption. His failure to do so must strengthen the inference of his guilt, added Mr McGill. , The counsel for the Crown have prepared 37 questions for the jury’s consideration. The questions bear directly on the evidence. The hearing has been adjourned.
