ROUMANIAN QUEEN.
ARRIVAL IN LONDON. Not one member of the Roumanian Legation was among the crowds at Victoria Station, London, when Princess Helene, ex-Queen of Roumania, arrived refcently. Nevertheless, the Princess in an official statement said:—“My journey has been undertaken by mutual understanding with the King. I am returning to Roumania at the end of October.” “We do not know officially that she is arriving,” said an official of the legation. “All we know is what we read in the newspapers.” Smiling radiantly, Helene kissed her mother- (Queen Sophie, of Greece), and her sisters, and drove off to the Mayfair Hotel, followed by three busloads of luggage. It is disclosed by the Daily Mail that before leaving Bucharest, Helene was compelled to give King Carol a written undertaking pledging her to silence. Madame Lupescu is now invited to the Palace, and Prince Michael is to join an aviation school.
