FRENCH TRAGEDY

MYSTERIOUS EXPLOSION. PARIS, Aug. 14. A largo tenement house in a suburb of Lyons was wrecked by a mysterious explosion. The building was occupied by French. Spanish and Algerian work-ing-class families, of whom 30 are buried in the ruins. Firemen rescued twelve, who are in hospital, and recovered five bodies, but ten children are believed still to be entombed. The wreckage blocked the street. The rescuers heard horrifying cries from the trapped victims. Doors and windows were blown out and the glass splintered for 500 yards from the scene.
